２月に読んだ本

長らく更新していませんでした。２月は仕事が忙しくなかなか本が読めませんでしたが、それでもなんとか読んだ本を紹介します。

まず、１月終わりにアメリカ出張中に購入したゲーム理論の入門書です。Dixit, A. K. and Nalebuff, B. J. (2008) The Art of Strategy: A Game Theorist's Guide to Success in Business and Life, New York: W. W. Norton & Company. 訳　アビナッシュ・ディキシット、バリー・ネイルバフ(2010)『戦略的思考をどう実践するか：エール大学式ゲーム理論の活用法』嶋津祐一、池村千秋訳、阪急コミュニケーションズです。訳本も昨年末に出ていて買おうか迷っていましたが、英語が安いので、アメリカで買ってきました。前作を上回るパワーです。ゲーム理論を数式を使わずに説明するアプローチは前作と変わるところはないのですが、囚人のジレンマ、ナッシュ均衡、オークション理論、投票、インセンティブなど、ゲーム理論の基礎を非常に楽しく教えてくれる良書です。ケースも豊富ですし、コラムも楽しく、読み飽きません。理論書のような厳密性はありませんが、変な理論書よりも絶対によくできています。

と同様、普通のビジネスマンがゲーム理論の基本を理解するための素晴らしい１冊です。両方ともお薦めですね。

次の英語の本は、Cusumano, M. A. (2010) Staying Power: Six Enduring Principles for Managing Strategy and Innovation in an Uncertain World (Lessons From Microsoft, Apple, Intel, Google, Toyota, and More), Oxford: Oxford University Press.
です。ＭＩＴの看板教授であるクスマノの最新刊。トヨタやホンダに紙面が割かれており、反面、日本のコンピュータ産業が規模を追いかけたことによる失敗など、非常に読みやすく書かれている。何がインテル、マイクロソフト、グーグル、アップルを成功に導いたか、非常に明晰な英語で書かれている良書です。訳が出ればいいのにと思います。
